Mike Masterson rotates a 3,000 pound slab of Redwood during final installation preparations. The slab is one of 12 pieces that make up a 102 foot tall sculpture created by the Shum Shu Gordon artist team. The sculpture is a carved Redwood tree trunk that is sited at the main stairway in the Moscone West expansion hall. Joinery Structures milled the slabs in preparation for the carvings by Shum Shu Gordon and afterwards in preparation for their installation. |
